This project began while revisiting my family’s photographic archive and realizing that my mother stops appearing in the photographs once she becomes a mother. She is present in all of those moments, but she is not seen, because she is the one taking the pictures.

From that point on, I started thinking about how these family memories are constructed, and how the archive is not as neutral as it may seem. Even though my mother is present in everything that happens, her image disappears, and this repeats constantly in photographs of trips, celebrations, and everyday moments.
